Co-op EV
Get rewarded for charging your EV at the right time.
Co-op EV gives Flint Energies’ members, who own an electric vehicle, a convenient way to earn bill credits while charging at home. This limited pilot lets you participate and earn a $50 one-time enrollment credit and a $50 annual participation credit per eligible vehicle for actively participating in the program.
By enrolling with an eligible electric vehicle, you allow signals to be sent to your vehicle to limit charging during periods of high energy demand during the summer and winter. These short windows help reduce strain on the electric grid, support reliable service, and help keep energy costs stable for all Flint Energies’ members. Most members should notice little to no difference in how their vehicle charges, and ultimately you remain in control of your vehicle.
Co-op EV Overview
During certain days when electricity demand is highest (2-8 P.M. from May through October and 6-10AM from November through April ), your electric vehicle will receive a notice to stop charging. Events can occur any time during these months but will not occur every day. Program benefits include:
- No specific electric vehicle charger is needed at your home
- $50 enrollment bill credit per electric vehicle. Max of two enrollment incentives per account.
- $50 participation bill credit per device at the end of each year in which you participated (October or November is when bill credits will appear)
- Let your electric vehicle manage itself – no manual scheduling
