Your co-op is finding innovative ways to use technology to make our operations more efficient. Below are the types of charges you will find on your bill each month:

Basic Monthly Service Charge

$35.00 (As of April 1, 2024)

This charge covers what it costs to bring energy to your home, provide offices, metering personnel, member services representatives to assist you, and billing services.

LIHEAP Discount

For members that receive LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assistance, the monthly Service Charge will be $17.00 (as of April 1, 2023).

kWh* Charges: (As of Apr. 1, 2017)

All kWh per month:  10.55 cents per kWh A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a measurement of energy. One kWh runs a 100-watt light bulb for 10 hours.

All Rates are subject to the addition of the Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment.

WPCA

The amount calculated at the above rate will be adjusted to compensate for the changes in Flint Electric Membership Corporation’s cost of wholesale power under the provisions of the Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment Rider, Schedule WPCA.

Taxes

Other costs you may find on your bill include the following: City Franchise Taxes, Georgia Sales Tax, City/County Sales Taxes, Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes (SPLOST). Flint is required to collect these taxes for state and local governments.

Ancillary Charges

If you subscribe to any non-electric services through Flint, these charges will be itemized on your bill as well.
