The Taylor County Chamber of Commerce is an incredible example of how to do rural Chamber of Commerce work right. They are truly the poster child for small rural Georgia Chamber work! You will find them constantly working in Butler and Reynolds, planning creative events and opportunities to support local businesses, and come together as a community.

The Chamber has been hosting Taylor Made Markets throughout the summer as well as First Friday events, but this month they've decided to try something a little different to really get excited about football season. This Friday, September 8, the Chamber has created another fun-filled event called "Friday Night Lights" themed around the Taylor County Vikings football team.

Starting at five Friday evening, people can shop and dine in downtown Butler. Autographed mini footballs will be given out to the first participants, restaurants will be open for food and fellowship, shops will stay open later than normal for extended shopping hours, and additional vendors will be found in the square!

I love it when communities rally around that contagious school spirit, bring everyone together, give the students a chance to lead, serve and help their hometowns win off the field, too.

If you're in the area, make sure to get out on the Butler Square on Friday, September 8, support your football team, and possibly take home a piece of Viking history – an autographed mini football. Don't miss your chance to meet the players, catch some exciting football action, and leave with a unique souvenir! Plus, you can enjoy a delicious dinner from Main Street Pizza and Wings, Mrs. Betty's Fried Chicken or China Wok, then treat yourself to a dessert at Taylor Made Ice Cream!

Make sure to follow the Taylor County Chamber of Commerce on Facebook and stay up-to-date on all their events!
